Dual die meets ISO26262 ASIL D

Automotive functional safety applications often require significant system design work.
Infineon Technologies has launched the new XENSIV TLE5014 family of magnetic angle sensors, which meets these demanding application requirements while also offering ease of use.

The single-die version of the TLE5014 sensor meets ISO26262 ASIL C, while the dual-die version meets ISO26262 ASIL D. Therefore, it is suitable for applications requiring the highest level of functional safety. The TLE5014 exhibits an extremely low angular error of less than 1 degree over its entire temperature and lifespan, making it useful for applications requiring highly accurate position sensing, such as steering angle sensing or motor commutation. Additionally, it can be used for EPS, pedal position sensing, and various other position measurements.

All XENSIV TLE5014 angle sensors are available in single-die and dual-die versions. All products are plug-and-play sensors that come pre-configured and calibrated for ease of use. Currently, customers can choose from SENT, PWM, and SPC interfaces. Infineon plans to release additional versions featuring an SPI interface by the end of the year. In addition, these sensors can be configured for all kinds of application setups through a programmable E²PROM interface.

The XENSIV TLE5014 sensor is based on GMR (Giant Magnetoresistance) technology and integrates the sensor unit and logic part into a single chip. All products can operate at high input voltages up to 26V.
