NH NongHyup Bank Announces Case of Dell Solution Application at Busan Bank
Dell Technologies held the 'Dell Technologies Forum 2018' at the COEX Convention Center in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the 30th. This forum, previously held under the name 'Dell EMC Forum,' was held for the first time this year under the name 'Dell Technologies Forum.'

Dell Technologies consists of a total of seven subsidiaries: Dell, Dell EMC, Pivotal, RSA, SecureWorks, Virtustream, and VMware. Therefore, the name of the forum was expanded because the 'Dell EMC Forum' does not encompass Dell Technologies' comprehensive solutions.

At the forum, the latest issues, related solutions, and technology trends regarding the digital future were shared with IT industry leaders and stakeholders. At this forum, which presented a guide to digital, IT, workforce, and security transformation under the theme "Make It Real," success stories from domestic and international companies were shared, along with the release of a survey conducted among domestic corporate IT leaders, attracting the attention of attendees.

The first keynote speech was delivered by Howard Elias, President of Dell Services and Digital. Under the theme "Innovating for the Future," President Elias presented on the current state and future direction of corporate digital transformation.
President Elias stated that companies can leverage the explosion of data as a future asset through a series of processes that involve collecting data via mobile and IoT technologies, deriving insights from data analyzed by AI and machine learning, and then actually implementing those insights using immersive and collaborative computing.

In addition, President Elias introduced the 'Digital Transformation Index' report, which surveyed over 4,600 IT leaders in 42 countries worldwide, and simultaneously disclosed the results of a survey conducted on domestic companies. According to the report, 22% of the domestic companies participating in the survey answered that they had successfully implemented digital innovation or established high-level digital innovation plans. On the other hand, 78% of the responding companies were found to still be lagging behind in digital innovation.

The next keynote speech was delivered by David Webster, President of Dell EMC Asia Pacific Enterprise. President Webster selected 'Digital, IT, Workforce, and Security' as the four pillars of transformation presented by Dell Technologies.
President Webster presented detailed strategies and actual application cases for each of the four transformations. Among domestic examples, he drew attention by introducing NH NongHyup Bank's IT transformation and Busan Bank's security transformation.

NH NongHyup Bank built a private cloud infrastructure in cooperation with Dell EMC and VMware. As a result, business agility improved by 200%, and resource provisioning agility also improved.

Busan Bank secured end-to-end security visibility and a level of security aligned with its business strategy based on core solutions from RSA, a security solution subsidiary of Dell Technologies.
In the 25 detailed zones held in the afternoon, Dell EMC's strategies for modern data centers, cloud, open networking, and IoT were introduced. In addition, Dell Technologies' subsidiaries Dell, Virtustream, VMware, Pivotal, and RSA also participated to share the latest trends and case studies in their respective fields.

At the COEX Convention Center, where the Technologies Forum 2018 was held with the participation of about 30 partners including global partners such as Intel, Microsoft, Samsung Electronics, Brocade, Daewon CTS, Kolon Benit, and SCG Solutions, as well as domestic distributors and partners, various exhibition and experience booths were also set up to enhance the understanding of visitors.

Over 60 types of Dell EMC servers, storage, hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), network equipment, and other latest Dell PCs and peripherals were on display. Among them, the Dell booth showcased solutions for various work environments, including desktops, laptops, workstations, and monitors, as well as the latest gaming devices such as Alienware and the G Series. They also set up an Experience Zone to provide hands-on opportunities and conducted expert demos.

Among the various events held on this day, Dell's charity auction for environmental protection received particular attention. Dell, which continues its efforts to protect the environment through measures such as packaging made from recycled plastic waste discarded in the ocean, held a premium laptop auction on-site. Hosted by auctioneer Kim Min-seo, well-known from the TV program 'The Bunker,' the auction featured gaming laptops from the renowned gaming PC manufacturer Alienware and Dell's XPS laptops, and the entire proceeds were donated to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), an organization dedicated to environmental issues under the UN.
