Dell EMC's next-generation data center solutions deliver the performance, agility, and scalability needed to store, protect, and leverage enterprise data.

Dell EMC announced on the 2nd that it is launching a large number of modern data center solutions to lead the digital transformation of companies.

At 'Dell Technologies World 2019' held in Las Vegas, USA, Dell EMC announced a new OS update for the next-generation mid-range storage products 'Unity XT' and 'Isilon', and unveiled the data management solution 'PowerProtect' and a low-capacity model of the integrated data protection appliance 'IDPA DP4400'.

The new products and solutions unveiled this time have improved performance and efficiency, and actively adopt technologies such as AI and cloud.


Next-generation mid-range storage unity XT
The mid-range storage Unity XT is up to twice as fast as previous models, boasts data efficiency with data compression ratios of up to 5:1, and system efficiency of 85%.

Enhanced CPU performance provides ample computing power to run applications, perform inline data deduplication and compression of file and block storage, or provide data services required for operations.

Designed for multi-cloud environments, Unity XT can run on public clouds and also supports seamless data movement to the cloud through Dell EMC Cloud Storage Service.

Dell EMC Unity can be utilized as a component of 'Dell Technologies Cloud' announced on April 30th, and protects the investment value of enterprises with a modern active-active architecture and NVMe-ready design. The new Unity XT is scheduled for official release in July.


PowerProtect, a new data management solution
The explosion of data has made it difficult to predict the scale of data businesses will need to protect and manage in the future, forcing businesses to demand new levels of flexibility and scalability.

Dell EMC presents a new data management solution that enables more flexible and agile data protection, management, and recovery across on-premises, virtualized, and public cloud environments through the PowerProtect software platform and the PowerProtect X400 appliance that supports multi-dimensional expansion.

The PowerProtect software platform is a software-defined solution that enables data protection, replication, and reuse. It includes deduplication, built-in cloud tiering, and cloud disaster recovery, as well as SaaS-based management and self-service capabilities that empower individual data owners to control their backup and recovery operations.

VMware customers can now easily access the latest data management solutions for their vSphere environments through integration with vRealize Automation.

With hybrid or all-flash appliances The PowerProtect X400 offered provides the flexibility to support both self-capacity expansion without adding servers through scale-up and computing performance and capacity expansion through scale-out.

Additionally, Dell EMC is the first data management solution to feature intelligent load balancing using machine learning, enabling businesses to deploy protected data in the most efficient and cost-effective locations.

Dell EMC's PowerProtect software and PowerProtect X400 appliance are scheduled for global availability in July.


DPA DP4400 Low-Capacity Data Protection Appliance for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
Dell EMC is introducing a new data protection appliance, the Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) DP4400, in low-capacity models ranging from 8TB to 24TB for mid-sized and small businesses seeking enhanced data protection.

Launched in Korea in July of last year, the IDPA DP4400 is a 2U converged appliance that supports backup, deduplication, replication, recovery, and long-term data retention in the cloud. It offers high cost-effectiveness, convenience, and powerful enterprise-level data protection features.

The low-capacity model being released this time is optimized for mid-sized and small businesses and remote branch offices of large corporations, and its capacity can be expanded from 8 TB to 24 TB in 4 TB increments. Additionally, with the purchase of additional license keys and upgrade kits, which will be released within the second quarter, capacity can be expanded in 12 TB increments, from 24 TB to a maximum of 96 TB.

The IDPA DP4400 low-capacity model is scheduled for global launch in May.


Scale-out NAS platform Isilon OS update
Dell EMC recently announced an operating system update and new products for its Isilon family of scale-out NAS platforms to address the growing volume of unstructured data driven by AI in diverse industries, including autonomous driving, media, entertainment, and healthcare. The new Isilon operating system and new products, unveiled this time, support demanding file workloads with robust scalability, enhanced cloud integration, and security features.

Isilon OneFS 8.2 improves cluster scalability by up to 75% compared to previous versions, providing up to 58PB and 945GB/s distributed throughput per cluster with up to 252 nodes. This allows companies to achieve business results more easily and quickly, tailored to their data scale.

Also, the new hybrid scale-out NAS storage platform 'Isilon H5600' based on OneFS 8.2 presents an ideal balance between high-density capacity and performance.

Dell EMC Isilon OneFS 8.2 OS is available now, and the Isilon H5600 is scheduled to be available in June.


Dell EMC Cloud Storage Services: Seamless Connection to the Public Cloud
Dell EMC has introduced 'Dell EMC Cloud Storage Service' for customers who want to extend their on-premises infrastructure to the public cloud for various purposes such as disaster recovery, testing, development, and analytics.

Dell EMC's Cloud Storage Service connects Dell EMC's storage product lines, including Unity, PowerMax, and Isilon, directly to the public cloud, leveraging a high-speed, low-latency connection from a managed service provider. This allows customers to enjoy the agility of multi-cloud along with the durability and availability of Dell EMC storage deployed alongside the public cloud.

VMware customers can leverage automated Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) on VMware Cloud on AWS, providing a seamless, enterprise-grade disaster recovery solution on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Dell EMC Cloud Storage Services is scheduled to launch within May.
