Infineon Director Choi Yeon-gyu on the Latest Automotive Semiconductor Technology Trends
Introducing automotive semiconductor trends and key traction inverter solutions.

It is projected that more than 50% of new vehicles will be equipped with electric powertrains by 2025.

Infineon Director Choi Yeon-gyu will present on the topic of “Latest Automotive Semiconductor Technology Trends” at the “2022 e4ds Semiconductor Trend Day” to be held at COEX Room 327 on June 10.

In this presentation, Director Choi Yeon-gyu explains automotive semiconductor technology trends to help the automotive industry respond to global trends and customer needs.

According to the data to be released, the average annual growth rate of electric and hydrogen vehicles from 2019 to 2025 is expected to be 35%, showing rapid growth, and it is expected that more than 50% of new vehicles in 2025 will be equipped with electric powertrains.

This is because, following the Paris Agreement, each country has been developing electric vehicles while advocating for policies to reduce carbon emissions, and the electric vehicle market is expanding. Consequently, automakers and related companies are making ongoing efforts to satisfy customer demands for vehicle performance and energy efficiency.

This presentation will cover the electrification trends in automobiles. We also share information on key trends in inverter applications and optimization of efficiency and system costs of traction inverters.

Various trends, including increased efficiency, reliability, systems, and predictive diagnostics, as well as the core and solutions of traction inverters are expected to be introduced.

Infineon also presents how it is responding to this trend.

Additionally, you will learn about the characteristics of silicon (Si), silicon carbide (SiC), and gallium nitride (GaN) and their applications in vehicles, and hear about Infineon's applications and packages.

Meanwhile, in 2022, as companies continue to actively invest in IT and various semiconductor investments and research in line with the digital transformation, e4ds, a semiconductor media outlet, will hold the '2022 e4ds Semiconductor Trend Day' at Room 327, COEX on Friday, June 10, to share the latest semiconductor technology trends.

In addition to 'Trends in Automotive Semiconductor Technology,' the seminar also features various sessions, including 'Global Semiconductor Market Trends,' 'Trends in Semiconductor Material Technology,' and 'Next-Generation Memory Development Direction and Material Trends - 3D Stacked DRAM Technology' by Professor Hwang Cheol-seong of Seoul National University.
