"'PROFINET' Simultaneously Processes Real-Time Control and Data Communication, Rapidly Emerges as Data Infrastructure for the AI Era"
Published2026.05.28 17:06Network technology connecting equipment and systems in industrial fields is emerging as a core infrastructure in the artificial intelligence (AI) era. In particular, PROFINET, an industrial Ethernet technology capable of simultaneously handling real-time control and data communication, is expanding as a foundational technology linking process automation and data utilization. The Korea PROFIBUS/PROFINET Association held the 'Industrial Network PROFINET Global Forum' on the 22nd at the Koriana Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. Xaver Schmidt, Chairman of PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI), who delivered the keynote address, stated that industrial networks will play an important role in an AI-based manufacturing environment.

NUCLEO-NETX는 통합 실시간 이더넷 스위치를 갖춘 netX 52 네트워크 컨트롤러 IC가 포함되었고, 회선 및 링 토폴로지를 위한 두 개의 RJ45 포트를 탑재하고 있다. netX 52는 이더캣(EtherCAT), 프로피넷(PROFINET), 이더넷(EtherNet), 이더넷/IP(Ethernet/IP), 파워링크(POWERLINK), CC-링크 IE, 모드버스(Modbus) TCP, 서코스(SERCOS) III를 비롯한 모든 실시간 이더넷 프로토콜 사양과 향후 버전까지 지원할 수 있다

TI, 비용 최적화된 산업용 이더넷 구출할 수 있는 SoC 출시
텍사스 인스트루먼트(TI)는 비용에 최적화된 산업용 이더넷 통신을 구축할 수 있는 새로운 시타라(Sitara™) AMIC SoC 제품군을 출시했다고 밝혔다. AMIC110 SoC는 멀티 프로토콜 산업용 통신 프로세서로, 10개 이상의 산업용 이더넷과 필드버스 통신 표준을 지원하는 바로 사용 가능한 솔루션을 제공한다. 이 디바이스는 공장 자동화 및 제어 애플리케이션에서 산업용 통신 지원을 위해 TI의 통합 소프트웨어 플랫폼인 Processor SDK, 그리고 사용자 프로그래밍이 가능한 TI 고유의 산업용 통신 서브 시스템(PRU-ICSS)을 이용한다. TI의 새로운 시타라 AMIC110 SoC를 이용하여 산업용 이더넷 기능을 추가함으로써, 기존 모터 드라이브와 같이 네트워크에 연결되지 않은 설계를 네트워크에 연결된 시스템으로 쉽게 변경 개발이 가능하다. 단일 산업용 이더넷 표준을 지원하는 ASIC과 달리 AMIC110 SoC의 프로그래머블 실시간 유닛(PRU-ICSS)은 이더캣(EtherCAT), 프로피넷(Profinet), 이더넷(Ethernet)/IP, 프로피버스(PROFIBUS) 마스터/슬레이브, HSR, PRP, 파워링크(POWERLINK), 서코스(SERCOS) III, 캔오픈(CANopen) 등 매우 다양한 프로토콜을 지원하며, 더 많은 표준들에 대한 개발이 진행되고 있다.

Hilscher Provides Central Link Connecting IT and OT Networks
Hilscher stated that it is supplying a technology and service package with its netIOT product line that enables data exchange from automation system components to cloud or IoT-based applications. The recently launched netIOT Edge Gateway NIOT-E-TIJCX-GB-RE is available for purchase on the market and provides a central link connecting IT and OT networks. Since the gateway device itself is integrated as an I/O subscriber in a PROFINET or Ethernet/IP network, it can be positioned to periodically exchange with the PLC while communicating directly with IoT-enabled field devices via OPC UA/MQTT.

Hilscher adds quickstart functionality to its PROFINET diagnostic tool.
힐셔는 산업용 이더넷 진단 툴인 넷애널라이저 스코프에서 별도의 소프트웨어 초기 구성을 하지 않고도 PROFINET 네트워크를 빠르고 손쉽게 진단할 수 있는 PROFINET 퀵스타터 기능을 지원한다고 밝혔다. PROFINET 퀵스타터는 네트워크 장치 목록을 비롯해 지터 안정성 측정, 실시간 및 비실시간 트래픽 간의 네트워크 부하 밸런스, 이벤트 로그와 같은 논리적 네트워크 연결 상태 등의 정보를 추가 구성없이 자동으로 수집한다. 클리어텍스트 PROFINET 알람 디코딩을 비롯해 새로운 통신관계나 장치 알람 등의 네트워크 관련 관심 이벤트들을 자동으로 검출할 수 있다. 퀵스타터 데이터를 PDF 보고서로 추출할 수 있어 측정 결과를 간편하게 문서화할 수도 있다.

Hillshire supports 'MRP' to enhance ring topology network stability.
Hilscher announced that its PROFINET IO devices and equipment controller products now support the PROFINET Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP). MRP enables system engineers to use ring topology in PROFINET IO RT networks and compensates for single faults.
