Achieved 2 trillion won in cumulative domestic payments and 100 million transactions across 7 global countries
Online payments are also growing rapidly, accounting for 25% of the cumulative domestic payment amount.

Samsung Electronics’ mobile payment service, ‘Samsung Pay,’ which launched in Korea last August, has surpassed 2 trillion won in cumulative payment volume in Korea to mark its first anniversary.

In addition, 'Samsung Pay' has been launched in seven countries including Korea, the United States, China, Spain, Australia, Singapore, and Brazil, achieving a total of 100 million transactions. It is currently collaborating with over 440 major banks worldwide, as well as major card companies such as American Express, UnionPay, Mastercard, and Visa, and Alipay.

Samsung Pay maximizes user convenience by supporting a wide range of services, including not only offline payments but also online payments, ATM deposits and withdrawals, transportation cards, memberships, and gift cards, and a combined total of 4 million membership cards have been registered in Korea and the United States.

In particular, the usage of online payment services, which began in earnest in Korea this year, has increased rapidly, accounting for approximately 500 billion won, or 25% of Samsung Pay's cumulative domestic transaction amount of 2 trillion won, and the number of cards registered for additional services such as ATMs, memberships, and transportation cards in Korea has exceeded 11 million.

While existing online payments generally require cumbersome authentication procedures, 'Samsung Pay' allows you to complete payments with a single fingerprint authentication.The method used ensures excellent convenience and security. Additionally, payments can be made at most online merchants, and since it supports both mobile applications and PC payments, it is even more convenient to use.

Samsung Electronics is also holding a customer appreciation event in Korea to celebrate the first anniversary of Samsung Pay. From August 22 to 31, Samsung Electronics plans to select 365 winners from among the applicants and provide various prizes, including travel vouchers (3 million won, 5 winners), gas vouchers (500,000 won, 60 winners), and convenience store vouchers (10,000 won, 300 winners).
