KT and Woori Bank to Launch AI-Based Financial Services
Published2017.07.17 16:34KT and Woori Bank announced that they will sign a 'comprehensive business agreement including provision of AI-based financial secretary service' to enhance customer convenience based on each company's specialized areas of ICT and financial services at KT's Gwanghwamun East building in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to pursue comprehensive cooperation on various financial platform services that combine finance and ICT, such as ▲ provision of ‘Giga Genie artificial intelligence (AI) financial services’ and various financial benefits to customers who use them, ▲ utilization of credit rating models based on wired and wireless communication big data, and ▲ O2O affiliate marketing.
In particular, the 'Giga Genie Artificial Intelligence (AI) Banking Service' to be introduced by the two companies is a service that utilizes the special features of Giga Genie, which is provided along with the TV screen, to enable bank account inquiry, account transfer, utility bill payment, exchange rate inquiry, and product information.
Kim Hyung-wook, head of KT's Platform Business Planning Division, said, "Through cooperation between our two companies, we will open new horizons in the domestic financial platform market, including developing new business areas utilizing Korea's best voice AI financial secretary service in the financial sector and the largest domestic big data based on wired and wireless communication products."

KT announced that it has developed an "intelligent convergence security solution" by collaborating with KT Telecom Cap, combining "enterprise-dedicated LTE" and "space-specific security control" technologies. The "intelligent convergence security solution" is an integrated security technology that combines "enterprise-dedicated LTE" for safe corporate network access by employees and "space-specific security control," which allows selective application of functions such as call restrictions, camera photography blocking, and recording prevention according to security zones. While the previously launched "enterprise-dedicated LTE" service recognized entry into security zones based on location information, the newly developed "intelligent convergence security solution" automatically sets security levels based on KT Telecom Cap's access control system information, enabling more stable and accurate security services.
