KT announced on the 26th that it received the 'Home Appliance IoT Security Test Report' for three home IoT terminals (Giga IoT Air Doctor/Plug/Multi-Tap) from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) for the first time in Korea.

At the security test report award ceremony held at the KISA Startup Campus in Pangyo, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, KT SCM Strategy Office Managing Director Kim Chang-yu and officials from KT partners Inopia Tech (Giga IoT Air Doctor) and Dawon DNS (Giga IoT Plug, Giga IoT Multi-tap) attended and received the ‘Home Appliance IoT Security Test Report’.

This report is the first of its kind in Korea for IoT security testing in the home appliance sector, and is the first achievement since the MOU signed between KT and KISA on May 26th to 'enhance home IoT security capabilities and expand security internalization of KT partners.'

KT plans to support its partners in enhancing their security capabilities by conducting security tests to strengthen the security of home IoT devices, providing training to raise security awareness, and exchanging security technology information with KISA. In addition, we plan to support our partners to independently manage security from the product design stage, such as by providing free verification of home IoT terminal source code and protocol testing through KT's currently operating S/W verification lab.

Recently, the Ministry of Science and ICT has been promoting the security compliance of home IoT devices, including the publication of a security guide for home appliances and IoT devices, to revitalize the IoT industry. KT's efforts are expected to provide practical assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Inopia Tech Director Jang Man-ho said, "We are delighted that AirDoctor's security has been recognized through our collaboration with KT. We will continue to work with KT to ensure that there are no security issues in the future."
