KT Opens Internal AI Training to the Public, Providing Education to Employees of SMEs and Startups
Providing a free 6-month practical training course for job seekers, linked to recruitment within the KT Group
Performing a role to resolve the supply and demand mismatch of industrial workforce

KT announced on the 11th that it has opened an 'AI Education Center' to establish a domestic human resource base related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and will provide practical training in AI algorithm development to the general public, extending beyond KT employees.

Previously, KT recognized the need to establish a national-level training center to resolve the supply-demand mismatch of personnel related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To this end, on September 26, it opened the 'AI Training Center' within the Group Human Resources Development Institute located at its Bundang headquarters and is currently conducting full-scale training courses.


The training courses offered by KT's 'AI Education Center' consist of two types: open courses and employment-linked courses. The open courses are open to employees of KT, KT Group companies, KT partners, small and medium-sized enterprises, and startups, and offer 12 courses across three areas—data science, programming, and modeling—which can be selected as area-specific modules or individual courses.

The employment-linked course is a program strictly focused on job placement, operated with the aim of producing AI professionals prepared for the workforce through practical corporate training that is difficult to experience in school. Targeting undergraduate and graduate students majoring in AI-related fields such as mathematics, statistics, and computer science, this course provides free group training, participation in corporate assignments, and project classes for approximately six months. In particular, trainees' capabilities are certified through step-by-step evaluations to enable them to enter various companies requiring skilled AI personnel. We plan to support students who complete this course in securing employment in relevant fields at KT Group and its partner companies.

Starting with AI education, KT plans to expand into related fields such as IoT and big data in the future to help resolve the imbalance in the supply and demand of personnel related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Korea.
