Samsung Electronics has recruited Professor H. Sebastian Seung of Princeton University and Professor Daniel D. Lee of the University of Pennsylvania, both world-renowned authorities in the field of AI, to strengthen its AI research capabilities.

Professor Sebastian Seung will be responsible for developing Samsung Electronics' AI strategy and advising on advanced research at Samsung Research (SR), thereby discovering future growth engines.

Professor Daniel Lee will also be in charge of research on next-generation machine learning algorithms and robotics at Samsung Research.
Professor Sebastian Seung is one of the leading scholars in the field of artificial intelligence based on brain neuroscience. He received his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Harvard University in the United States, worked as a researcher at Bell Labs, a professor in the Department of Physics at MIT, and has been a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University since 2014.
In 2008, he received the Ho-Am Prize in Engineering from the Ho-Am Foundation in recognition of his contributions to laying the foundation for implementing artificial intelligence computers.

Professor Daniel Lee is one of the leading authorities in the field of artificial intelligence robotics. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from MIT, worked as a researcher at Bell Labs, and has been a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania since 2001.

In addition, the Neural Information Processing System (NIPS), an academic society in the field of artificial intelligence, and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AA)He is the Chairman of the AI) and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

In particular, in 1999, the two professors jointly developed the world's first computer program that mimics human intellectual activity, inspired by the neural functions of the human brain, and published a related paper in the journal 'Nature'.
